A Medical Pedicure with KC Medical
Our Licensed Practical Nurse who specializes in Advanced Foot Care will provide this service. Surgical instruments & podiatry burrs are sterilized in the ENBIO S autoclave. This process kills harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores. Single use files & products, PODO Expert moisturizer, nail drill vacuum system that captures nail particles, and sterilization between each client. Nursing assessments & referrals to other health care professionals. Client centred care is provided in our private clinic.
What does a finger nail care appointment include?
We will clean your hands, trim & file finger nails, removal of overgrown cuticles, moisturize with PODO Expert products, finishing with a light massage.
What does a foot care appointment include?
We will clean your feet, trim & file nails, reduce thick & fungal nails, removal of overgrown cuticles. reduction of calluses, removal of corns, moisturize with PODO Expert products, finishing with a light massage to stimulate circulation. For diabetic assessments, a tuning fork and monofilament is used to check for loss of feeling on your foot.
Do you soak feet during the foot care service?
You may be surprised but KC Medical actually does not recommend foot soaks before the appointment and we do not offer foot soaks. The reason for this is, there is a "risk" or possible "chance" that the skin could get injured after the foot soak and cause an infection. By removing this service from foot care nursing, this takes away the possible chance of infection or injury during a foot care appointment.

Evaluation of blood circulation in the feet, monitoring for signs of vascular issues. Neuropathy Management: Assess and make a plan to reduce the risk of complications. Treatment of Fungal Infections: Fungus affecting the nail can cause brittleness and thickened nails. Education and Preventive Care: Proper foot care practices & footwear selection. |
Diabetic Foot Care:
We focus on preventing and managing complications related to neuropathy and ulcers. Skin Condition Management: Dry skin, thin skin, athlete's foot, warts, dermatitis. Nail Care: Trimming, filing, and addressing issues such as ingrown toenails, fungal infections, or other nail disorders. Callus and Corn Management: Reduction of calluses and corns to prevent discomfort. |

Nail Correction band for (1) involuted/ingrown toenail with foot care treatment: $180 (in clinic)
Nail Correction band for (1) involuted/ingrown toenail (foot care not included): $90
Nail Correction half band application: $70

CASH/ E-TRANSFER /CREDIT CARD (If using credit card a 3% service fee is applied) Must be paid at time of service.
Extended Benefits: If you have medical coverage through Blue Cross, Sun Life, or any other private insurance plan for foot care KC Medical will provide you with a receipt to submit to your health insurance provider. KC Medical has no authorization/access to view benefits and see if clients are covered for foot care, each plan is different. Check with your provider before hand to see if you are covered.
