Our Licensed Practical Nurse who specializes in Advanced Foot Care will provide this service. Surgical instruments & podiatry burrs are sterilized in the ENBIO S autoclave. This process kills harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores. Single use files & products, PODO Expert moisturizer, nail drill vacuum system that captures nail particles, and sterilization between each client. Nursing assessments & referrals to other health care professionals. Client centred care is provided in our private clinic.
Fungal Nails
When it comes to fungal nails/nails that have the same symptoms of fungal nails, foot care treatments are the best way to tackle thick or thin discoloured nails. Each treatment is a personalized experience that will give you the time to express your concerns and have an understanding of your treatment plan moving forward. Having discoloured nails makes us want to hide our nails, wear socks often, and do anything we can to not show others what they look like. Have you struggled with callus formation? Thick, dry skin that is starting to cause pain and discomfort? Our PODO Expert products with the foot care treatment takes the formation down and provides relief and comfort. PODO Expert moisturizer helps protect the skin from forming callus and will protect the skin barrier. Regular 4-6 week follow ups and continues care on your end is how to reduce or stop the formation of continues callus, this will all be discussed at your appointment.

What does a finger nail care appointment include?
We will clean your hands with our PODO soak, trim & file finger nails, removal of overgrown cuticles, moisturize with PODO Expert products, finishing with a light massage. (15 minutes added to foot care treatment)
What is an ingrown toenail treatment?
First we discuss where the added pressure/pain is coming from, discuss a treatment plan, then we provide ingrown toenail treatment. First we clean the nail, trim and remove the part of the nail that is puncturing the skin, file down any thickness that is adding pressure to the skin in contact with the nail, and apply a nail correction band. The nail correction band will relieve pressure and guide the nail to grow to its natural nail form by applying the band closest to the cuticle.

We will clean your feet, trim & file nails, reduce thick & fungal nails, removal of overgrown cuticles. reduction of calluses, removal of corns, moisturize with PODO Expert products, finishing with a light massage to stimulate circulation. For diabetic assessments, a tuning fork and monofilament is used to check for loss of feeling on your foot. (75 minute first initial clinic appointment with assessment & 60 minute ongoing clinic appointments)
Do you soak feet during the foot care service?
You may be surprised but KC Medical actually does not recommend foot soaks before the appointment and we do not offer foot soaks. The reason for this is, there is a "risk" or possible "chance" that the skin could get injured after the foot soak and cause an infection. By removing this service from foot care nursing, this takes away the possible chance of infection or injury during a foot care appointment.

All appointment includes a thorough nursing assessment by an Advanced Foot Care Nurse. All tools are autoclaved & sterilized protection from bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms. Nail files are single use. All medical products are PODO Expert by Allpremed.
1st Time Clients to KC Medical Foot Care Treatment & Care Plan
Forms will need to be filled out prior to the appointment start time. A treatment plan will be created to create upmost continuation of care, our nurse will ask you questions related to your overall health & lifestyle. The space is comfortable and a safe experience in our private clinic. Our nail drill has vacuum suction capturing 99.9% of all nail and skin particles reducing the amount of nail dust. Recommendations for proper foot ware, moldable devices, referrals as needed. Education for all clients/ages, from nail trimming to whom may be diabetic, have peripheral arterial disease, and other circulatory health concerns. This treatment will either include Nail Skin & Glow, Nail Correction Band, or Thick, Misshaped & Discoloured Toenail Treatment based on assessment.

Medical Nail Correction (1) Band (Non invasive treatment) for Ingrown, Brittle, & Curled Nails
The principle of nail correction is to guide nails into a natural nail shape without tension or pain, through normal growth. Preparation of the nail with our antibacterial PODO Expert foot soak. Smooth sharp edges of the nail with our professional instruments & burrs, removal of overgrown cuticles. Application of the compound to the nail and shaped. After hardening, the nail correction system fixes the nail in its natural shape. The nail correction system ensures that this shape is maintained during natural nail growth. After successful treatment, we will painlessly remove the system from the nail. Treatment lasts 2-3 months and can fall off by itself. Please be advised: If late for your scheduled appointment time, the treatment time will only be as long as your scheduled appointment time slot.
